I had a similar issue with Goland (or since it was a few years ago not, it might have been Pycharm, but same idea) and the team solved it very quickly. My HiDPI screen has some issues with VS Code, and since the problem comes from the old version of Electron they use, the team closed my issue as out of scope for their team and resources. The debugger will probably eventually catch up a bit in VS Code since both are based upon Delve, but the paid staff at Jetbrains can improve the ease of using the debugger much faster.įinally, the VS Code team is not interested in any issue they deem out of scope. For example, it might not make sense to have VS Code make antivirus exclusion suggestions, inotify tweaks, or refactor input paths when you simply change the name of a folder. Some inspections and conveniences provided by Goland are just too heavy or complicated to handle via a language server and multi-language editor. For some people, the value proposition is great even for hobby work.
However, this isn't the compromise everyone must make.
Different people see the price differently, can afford things differently, and they might live in different parts of the world with different purchasing capabilities even later in their career.
